The «CinéClubturel» is open to everyone, both teenagers and adults. The detailed screening schedule is presented below.

When the screenings are aimed at a young audience, the format is adapted as follows.

With children, the goal of such a session is to familiarize them with a simple narrative structure that is found in most film stories. Becoming aware that a story follows a certain organization helps children better understand the message conveyed by the film.

First, we discuss with them using simple questions: what is a film? why do they like stories? what do they prefer in films?

Then, the children take a moment to draw a scene or a memorable moment from their favorite film. Based on their drawings, we discuss together and try, using their own words, to connect what they have represented to the structure of a story.

Finally, we introduce, using accessible vocabulary, some key concepts such as:

• the exposition (the beginning of the film)
• the inciting incident (the moment when the adventure begins)
• character types such as the protagonist (the hero) and the antagonist (the «villain»).

These reference points allow children to ask themselves questions throughout the viewing. Regular pauses (including a fruity one) during the film provide opportunities to discuss together. This exchange helps highlight the film’s message and understand what the creators intended to convey through their work.
